Stark County Demands Money from Massillon and Alliance

Massillon and Alliance are being asked to pay up. Stark County Commissioners have agreed to send a request to both cities, demanding they each pay their part of a $1,000,000 dollar bill for housing prisoners at the county jail.
Officials in Massillon and Alliance have said they believe they didn't need to pay the daily rate for each prisoner whent he county sales tax was approved several years ago.
Due to recent budget cuts, a number of employees at the Sheriff's office and other county departments have lost their jobs. |
