Sam is the captain of the WHBC Sports Department ship, and commands respect whenever he's in the building. He's the voice that greets you and give you the good news or bad news about how all your local teams did each and every morning on the Pam and Fred morning show, and is 1480's lead play-by-play man for high school sports.

Sam says he loves being part of the sports scene, whether he's working a game or enjoying one as a fan! Sam spends his downtime at the pool, playing slots, at the race track, or scratching off instant lottery tickets (and winning once in awhile).

People Who Influence You:  My mom and dad who have both passed away, Central Catholic baseball coach Doug Miller, and Central football coach Lowell Klinefelter.

High School/Year Graduated/Sports Played (if any):  Central Catholic, where I played baseball and basketball.

Favorite Sports Teams:  Indians, Browns, Cavs, Buckeyes. I hate the Yankees, I hate the Steelers, and I hate Michigan!!!

Favorite Sports Memory:  Watching the Cavs win the Eastern Conference playoffs against the Pistons. The “Q” was rockin!!

Favorite Moment Covering a Sports Event:  Doing play-by-play when McKinley beat St. Ignatius at the Rubber Bowl in 1997. What a game!

Athlete that Best Represents You and Why:  Mark Price because I'm a pretty laid back kind of guy....but I can talk trash with the best of them!

Favorite Moment so far on Stark Sports Live:  Everytime we make fun of Dave Sheets because he's a huge Nascar fan.
