Local Lawmaker joins Democrats in Impending Impeachment of Dann

A local Ohio House Democrat supports articles of impeachment filed Tuesday against embattled Attorney General Marc Dann. Stephen Slesnick of Canton says state lawmakers can't let Dann's actions overshadow work that needs to be done on behalf of Ohioans. He believes lawmakers trying to promote the state and protect Ohio residents from distractions like this.
Republicans must support the impeachment articles filed by Democrats in order to send the charges to the Senate for trial. A Dann spokesman says the AG doesn't believe there are grounds for impeachment. Democrats say it stems from an internal investigation into sexual harassment complaints against and aide in Dann's office, as well as other statements.
Meanwhile, Governor Ted Strickland is again calling on Dann to resign, somthing Dann has said he won't do. |
