SUZANNE THOMAS
Suzanne (Suzie) Thomas has served Malone College as director of college
communications since 1990.
Her children's book, published in 1991 by David C. Cook Publishing
Company, is entitled Read It Again Bible Stories: The Miracles of Jesus.
She is a former elementary school teacher and has also written and
produced educational "spots" for WVIZ-TV 25 in Cleveland and hosted a
children's program as "Sailin' Soozy" on WOAC-TV 67 in Canton. She also
spent seven years as co-host of the morning program on 95.9 "The Light"
(WNPQ-FM).
Suzie's community involvement has primarily focused on assisting
community organizations and ministries with their own public relations
and publicity efforts, among them: the American Cancer Society,
Pregnancy Support Center of Stark County, Community Gift Mart, Pathway:
Caring for Children, Alive Christian Music Festival, ChildReach
Ministries, Kenya Canning Project, American Heart Association, Canton
YWCA, United Way, Light Up Downtown, and the Junior League of Canton.
Suzie has been named to Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in
Education, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in America. She is a
frequent speaker for conferences, churches, and civic groups. Awards
include Canton Advertising Club "Addies" for Malone College
publications; Association of Junior Leagues, International, Public
Relations Award; Admissions Marketing Report Admissions Advertising
Award for outstanding achievement in college admissions advertising
campaigns; and several APEX Awards for publication excellence for the
Malone Magazine and annual report.
Suzie received the bachelor's degree in education at Miami University,
Oxford, Ohio and the master's degree in communications from Regent
University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is accredited in public
relations through the Public Relations Society of America.
Suzie and her husband Jim reside in Canton and have two grown sons. |
